No Carb Snacks- Cheese & Dairy

Isn’t it great that you can enjoy cheese on a low carb diet?

Add it to your salad or any of the no carb protein snacks coming up, and you have a flavor combination that will remind you of pizza. Why have the crust when you can eat all the toppings?

With cheese, almost all hard cheeses are below 1 gram of carbs. The key to enjoying these no carb snacks, however, is to avoid soft cheeses (they are higher in carbs), and watch your portion size.

  • String Cheese- These are already in separate containers that you can travel with. Simply unwrap and have it alone or with any other no carb snack on this list.
  • Heavy Cream- The less processed the cream is, the better. There are some no carb vegetables on this list that you can pair this with. For something with a bit more flavour, a handful (quarter cup) of blueberries are less than 5 grams of carbs.

Plus:

  • Cheddar cheese
  • Mozarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese

If you are hoping to see chocolate on this list, I’m sad to report that they haven’t created a no carb chocolate snack yet(that I know of).

  • Pepperoni Chips- Bake the seasoned pepperoni in a single layer on an ungreased baking sheet in a preheated oven. After 10 minutes, use a paper towel to absorb the grease from the pepperoni, then bake for 2 more minutes. Remove them from the oven before you absorb the grease.

  • Homemade Baked Kale Chips- Remove the leaves of the kale from the stem and spread the bite-sized pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-15 minutes and remove. Sprinkle with salt to your liking.
