Original Pumpkin Oatmeal Recipe With Pumpkin Spice

Pumpkin Oatmeal Recipe

This pumpkin spice oatmeal recipe is one I perfected  after months of experimenting with a homemade pumpkin puree and pumpkin spices.

The aromatic spices of fall really shine through in this recipe (although I make it year-round).

If you already have a pumpkin spice blend on hand, you can use that to recreate it. Otherwise, you can make a  pumpkin spice blend with cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice.

Get the recipe for the pumpkin pie spice mix here.

I made a pumpkin puree from scratch for this pumpkin oatmeal but a store-bought version will do if you don’t have the time.

How To Make Pumpkin Oatmeal

This special pumpkin oatmeal recipe calls for a few ingredients. In addition to the oatmeal (I chose to use old fashioned oats), you will need milk, a few spices, and pumpkin puree.

If you don’t have pumpkin puree, simply steam about 1/2 cup of pumpkin after you have removed the skin. Mash this completely and add it to the oatmeal. This, along with the milk, will make this oatmeal really creamy and delicious.

You can buy pumpkin puree here or use this pumpkin puree recipe to make this quickly.

This pumpkin oatmeal recipe will take a total of 10 minutes to prepare once you have all your ingredients. You will get 4 servings of this pumpkin spiced oatmeal.
