The Best Keto Coconut Yogurt Recipe

keto coconut yogurt recipe

The best keto coconut yogurt is simple, unsweetened, high in fat, and has a good amount of protein. This is important because the amount of sugar in yogurt can change the effect it has.

The last thing you want is to get kicked out of ketosis, right? There is no reason to be concerned though. There are a couple of trustworthy keto plain yogurt and Greek yogurts that you can try.

To be on the safe side, you can make your own keto coconut yogurt. For this yogurt recipe, you have the option to use three yogurt starters. You can use either a:

  1. yogurt starter culture
  2. or probiotic supplements capsules
  3. or premade keto coconut yogurt

All 3 options contain the bacteria culture that the yogurt needs. This yogurt recipe has no additional sugar but you can top it with these delicious low carb toppings to make a full keto breakfast. Before you start making the yogurt, here is what you need to do.

Gather The Ingredients

This keto yogurt recipe makes 10 servings. Each serving of 1/3 cup contains:

  • 12g fat
  • 2g net carbs
  • 1g protein

Making Keto Coconut Yogurt From Scratch

Step 1- Prep The Container

Sterilize one or 2 glass jars by washing thoroughly with soap and water. After this, the jar will need to come into contact with heat and you can choose the option that’s most convenient to you.

  1. Place the glass jars on oven racks and heat them at 120 degrees Celcius for 10-15 minutes
  2. Or put the jars through a hot cycle in your dishwasher
  3. Or boil the bottles and bottle seals for 5 minutes, then leave them in water until cool.

Important: If the hot glass gets in contact with cold air or cold water, it will break. It’s best to leave it in the warm water/dishwasher/oven until it’s completely cooled.

Step 2– Make The Yogurt

Shake the cans of coconut milk and pour it into the jar. Open the supplement capsule or starter and sprinkle it over the milk. Close the lid and shake everything to combine. Then open the lid and leave it slightly unopened at room temperature for 24-36 hours (1 day-2 days).

Do not leave the yogurt for more than 2 days.

To make your next batch of low carb coconut yogurt, you can reserve 1/3 cup of this recipe so you don’t have to buy more starter next time.

With this easy yogurt recipe, you can make keto smoothies, enjoy with some keto granola, or make a complete keto snack with some of these low carb toppings.
